Another day at a park, another day to be with those we love

We have spent a lot of time out at parks the last few days, since Caitlins death. It's a chance for us to watch the kids play, see them laugh, see them burn their never ending energy. Its been a chance for me to just try to find gratitude for my family and friends, who have all been so incredibly wonderful to us. The kids are all doing remarkably well - the three younger ones were removed enough at this point that what they see is our sadness, but otherwise, life is normal. Dane is having a bit of a harder time, being a teenager, and Sierra and Olivia are still in Montana ... but death is hard to understand and accept at any age. I am thankful for a chance to love everyone and everything around me, to watch Spring slowly turn into summer, to watch the kids cartwheel and run, to see life around us. But still, this grief catches me off guard, and is overwhelming at times, taking my breath away and altering my view of everything. I guess this is normal, but finding ways to cope has been hard ... Bailey is learning to be a boarder already!
C'mon Dane - just give me a smile! Always lauging - until he spies me with the camera!
Wyatt - on yet another set of monkey bars!
Chris and his sweet and oh-so cheesey smile!

The funniest thing was, after they started flying this, suddenly Chris was swarmed with about half the kids on the playground - he was like the pied piper!

And he made it across the bars AGAIN!

Thank you all for the support already given ...

Since the news of Caitlins death, the days have been full of ups and downs - death is so hard. But the amazing part has been the friends and family who have rallied around us. All the calls have been incredible - so many people reaching out and showing their love. Kenny & Keren sent flowers, and my dad, Shelley & Jenna came up from Oregon which was wonderful. We all, along with Devon, Dejah and Kora, hung out at our house, ate wonderful food cooked by my dad - and went to a park for a full afternoon. My cousins stopped by to visit, and again - all the calls which continue to come in have been wonderful, so appreciated - and just a reminder of how amazing our life is. So thankful for my caring family ... here is Shelley, Daddy (aka Judo), Devon, Kora & Dejah - and a big latte - the staple of my life at the moment!
And then we have Jenna!

We re-did the little ones rooms!

It was time for a change for all three little ones. So, with MANY thanks to family members (Grandma Shirley & Grandpa Bob, Grandma Maureen & Mormor), we got new fun things for the rooms. In Wyatt & Trents room, they each got loft beds, their own clothing amoire's, night stands, and a few other fun things. In Bailey's room, she got a half loft with a play area underneath and her own princess room. We are starting the process of making a seperate room for Sierra & Olivia, so they will have their own big-kid space. Fun projects! And again, THANK YOU Mormor, Grandma Maureen, Grandma Shirley & Grandpa Bob!Bailey sleeping in her princess bed ....

A sunny day at the park ...

Today we spent the afternoon at Cowen Park - our new favorite place to play - we threw footballs, hit whiffle balls, played on the play ground, swung on the swings - and everyone went home happy!Chris having more fun on the zip line swing than the rest of us!

Go, monkey boy!
Um, Dane - you might be a little big for these rings!
Wyatt's requirement for parks is that they have monkey bars and rings - anything to swing and hang from!
